Two weeks ago, I went to Osaka to have some meetings about holding my next exhibitions in Osaka and Tokushima. I already decided which gallery I hold it, but as I had no idea where I should hold it in Osaka, I asked it to a good graphic designer Kei Sumiya. At that time, I could go a little way further to an exhibition of Saiko Shiiki, my friend artist.
Most artists hadn’t been interested in poetry and works by poets until recently. Poetry is interested in Picture, on the other hands, words might be gloomy for artists who love drawing or painting. Meanwhile, she came to my poetry exhibition and liked my works. It encouraged me.
To a real artist from an illustrator—I felt so when I saw her new works this time. At the same time, I thought that I was really happy because I have so wonderful friends who has sense of poetry.

 

先々週の大阪出張は、来春、徳島と関西で開催予定の個展の打ち合わせが主な目的。徳島は、久しぶりのuta no taneでの開催。関西はまだ会場が決まっていないので、候補にあげてもらったギャラリーをいくつか廻りながら、椎木彩子さんの展示にも足を延ばした。
絵を描くひとが詩を味わってくれることは、今まで、あまり多くなかった。詩は絵を愛でられるいっぽうで、絵を描くひとにとって、言葉が、少しお厄介なのだと思う。そんななか、数年前、椎木さんがぼくの詩を好いてくれて、心底励みになった。
イラストレーターから画家へ。この一・二年、SNSにあがってくる写真を見ていたので、画風が自由になっているのはわかっていたけれど、実際本当に、気持ちいいくらい、いい絵だった。先月舞台を共にした音楽家たちと同様、刺激的な友人がいて、幸運だと思う。
