One new exhibition “Edwardian Garden” is going to hold at my studio “Shiteki-na-Shigoto” in Matsumoto from 19th to 27th of March by a handmade hats workshop “Viridian”. You will be able to see her new spring/summer hats and order your favorite one. And your order will arrive between the bottom of April and the middle of May. By the way, the exhibition’s title is about a popular garden-style being started in the early twentieth century that Edward Ⅶ had been on the throne. This garden was also called Arts and Crafts Garden after Arts and Crafts Movement. The person who leads the movement was British poet and handicrafts artist, William Morris been loved by all generations.

朗読会で着用する帽子を作ってくれている、東京・学芸大学の帽子店「ビリジアン」。2016年春夏新作の展示販売会を、昨年に続いて、してきなしごとのアトリエで開催していただけることになりました。オーダー頂いた商品の完成予定は、4月下旬〜5月中旬。春支度にぜひお越しください。ちなみに。タイトルの「Edwardian Garden」とは、20世紀初頭英国、エドワード7世が在位していた頃の庭園のこと。この庭園は、当時流行したArts and Crafts Movementから、Arts and Crafts Gardenとも呼ばれるそうです。その運動の先頭を切っていたのが、以来長く世界中で愛され、日本にも、そしておそらく皆さんのなかにもファンが多いウィリアム・モリスです。

さまざまな職を転々としたのち、ヨーロッパ放浪中に出会った「帽子が“日常”の人々」に憧れ、自らも帽子をかぶりはじめる。やがてその趣味が高じ、2003年、Viridianとして活動開始。2007年、東京・目黒に同名店舗をオープン。帽子作りを通して次第に「生地」の世界にも魅了され、世界各国のインテリアファブリックやビンテージファブリックなど、帽子にしたら素敵！と思うものを幅広く楽しくセレクト。オリジナル商品からオーダーメイドまで、店番の傍らミシンを踏み踏み、制作している。
